Maya is distributed as shareware. This means it's not free, but you can test it at no cost, with no obligation.
If you are not familiar with the shareware concept, you may want to visit the Association of Shareware Professionals' FAQ page. The evaluation version of Maya can be used for as long as you wish.
It has all the functions of the registered version, so you can see exactly what Maya can (and can't) do for you.
The very few limitations are:
- a nag screen when you launch the program - from there you'll be able to register when you're ready.
- a very unobtrusive reminder that your version is "unregistered" in the about box.
- an "evaluation version" item in the help menu, which explains the principles of shareware and how to register - this will go when you have registered.
- and, last but not least, a limit of 40 addresses - enough to test the program 'for real'.
If and when you are satisfied that Maya answers your needs, just register by clicking on the link to Yaskifo, a secure online purchase site. You'll get a registration code within 24 hours. When you buy the licence fee, it's for life: there will be no other charges for upgrades, ever.
